Healthy soil matters.

• We know that the food we eat can only be as healthy as the soil it comes from. 
• Even a diet rich in fruit and vegetables could still be lacking key micronutrients if the produce isn’t grown in healthy, carbon-rich, nutrient-dense soils. The nutrients we need to thrive can’t be in our foods if they aren’t in the soils in which our food is grown. 
• Many industrial farming methods and subsequent soil depletion mean the fruits and vegetables we eat today are often lower in vitamins and minerals than they were just 40 or 50 years ago.

• Regenerative farming practices can help to not only improve soil health and subsequently, the nutrient density of our food. It can also help address climate change. 

• Healthy soils are the result of increasing soil carbon levels, which means less carbon in our atmosphere.
• According to a White Paper published by the Rodale Institute, regenerative farming is one of the most promising climate change solutions. If practised on all farming land globally, regenerative agriculture could sequester over 100% of current global carbon emissions annually. 
• The way we grow our food, matters. It might not be the only answer to climate change but it’s a huge step in the right direction - one that can only benefit the environment, the climate and our health.
