Never in our history has food safety, provenance & traceability been more essential. Food fraud and misrepresentation costs an estimated $30 to $40 billion every year to the global food industry.
Just imagine being able to scan with your smartphone a piece of fruit, vegetable, meat or fish, infant formula or even an egg at point of sale or consumption, and find out in real time a host of authentication insight including provenance, traceability, nutrient density, fresh or frozen and ripeness.
Organic produce, honey, fish, meat and some of the most common items globally misrepresented, with potentially catastrophic results for entire industries as well as a loss of regional IP.
The Zondii journey for Founder & CEO Danielle Morton started in 2018 when Danielle went in search of a way to authenticate nutrient dense food at point of sale or consumption for her family. What she discovered was a near impossible task to authenticate real time nutrition without expensive price prohibitive hardware. Her mission led her to a fortuitous meeting with Udo who works at Adelaide University Australia. Udo created unique patented technology that enables the smart phone to be used as an affordable food scanner. Food scanners are hand-held devices that are able to analyse the composition of food with a simple point and shoot. Traditionally they are expensive and too large to carry in your pocket, but Udo found a way to integrate the technology into consumers smartphones at no extra cost. Udo and Danielle collaborated and have created exclusive Zondii technology and data modelling that has multiple applications, Zondii is on a mission to end food fraud, to reward excellence in food safety and freshness, to celebrate healthy eating and to give consumers globally and authenticity of what they are about to buy or eat.
